Matteo & Dion Primerano, otherwise known by their DJ name “DJ Primz” are two Brothers from Perth who have quickly built themselves a reputable name in the Perth DJ scene over the last few years to provide exceptional entertainment for people all over Western Australia.
Matteo’s Journey
What started as a one-person operation 6+ years now during COVID as a hobby for Matteo quickly evolved into a career, as Matteo dedicated countless hours & days to perfecting his craft & skillset and building his collection of music. His commitment to delivering quality entertainment laid the foundation for the boys, and from there his passion to create personalised experiences for all guests has taken off.
Matteo has always loved working with people, coming from a background in hospitality & the legal profession, he never shies away from doing all he can to make his clients feel at ease. He understands that events can sometimes be daunting to prepare and plan for, which is why he is there to help with the process too, and of course, take care of the music.
In early 2024, Matteo was running a DJ event in Whistler, Canada, where he had the opportunity to learn more about the night club scene whilst playing alongside some incredible DJs from all over the world. This opportunity & experience of running events, allowed him to flourish & develop a new unique style of DJing which he brought back to Perth. Today, Matteo continues his relationship with all his respected clients across WA including some of Perth's most recognisable venues, reputable schools, businesses, and non-for profit organisations (some of which you can see in the Testimonials).
Dion Jumps on Board
Dion, the younger of the brothers, has always been an old soul, with an even greater knowledge of music throughout all decades before his time across all music genres. Dion would always see the countless effort Matteo put into preparing for every event, and over time, he developed a deep curiosity about DJing too. Inspired by Matteo’s persistent drive, Dion's passion for DJing took off.
Dion’s background as a Program Coordinator for Edmund Rice Camps for Kids as well as his volunteer work in the legal profession is a testament to his kind character, showcasing his ability to adapt to different situations and provide an exceptional service.
Growing Side by Side
In 2023, Dion officially joined, marking the evolution of the business into a family-run venture. With Matteo & other DJs guiding him, Dion’s growth progress as a DJ was exponential. Within just a week of learning the basics, Dion played his first event within 3 weeks – a rapid progression made possible by his natural ear for music and Matteo’s mentorship. During the period when Matteo was performing in Canada, Dion stepped up, taking full responsibility for the business at home, ensuring every client received the exceptional service the boys are known for. His dedication and passion helped solidify new relationships and even played a pivotal role in launching the successful WAFL Wonderland Events, a major milestone not only for the WAFL, but for the boys also.
At the forefront of each relationship they have built, Primz pride themselves on remaining client focused, professional and strives to formulate and adjust their DJ playlists to perfectly suit their clients events. DJ Primz knows how to read the room, which is why the dance floor always remains the place to be all night. Overtime, DJ Primz have collected an extensive list of classic songs ranging from 70s & 80s classics and singalongs, 90s r&b, dance and alterative, early 2010s Bangers as well as modern day pop, R&B, house, rap & drum and bass. Primz say their love for music is limitless and this is truly reflected in their ability to mix in and out of genres and musical eras with ease.

Matteo brings his years of expertise, while Dion’s fresh energy and innovative ideas continue to grow their skills. Together, they are committed to providing the highest level of entertainment for weddings, birthdays, school events, corporate functions, and private parties across Western Australia.
